Thin Hair - AND GETTING THINNER?

Ok, to put this simply, my hair is getting ever thinner.

I'm a 17 year old male and i'v grown my hair for almost two years now. I had it cut down to roughly 7-8 inches at the fronts, and about 3 at the back.

The most thinest part on my head, if the fringe.

When ever i comb my hair, i always have about 4-5 strands fall out with each stroke.

I'v been dying my hair for 2 years, and straightening for 1.

I'm afraid if my hair keep's coming out at this rate, i'll have to cut it all off, and start growing it again. But hair hair grows realy slowly.

If you could help me, i would be very thankful!

Thin Hair - AND GETTING THINNER?

It could be a combination of the dying and the straightening. I'd say to go back to your natural color and if you have to straighten it, use some kind of heat-protectant product. See, if the hair gets too hot, it can break off. But you don't have to worry about this if you use a silicone-based product (it should contain Dimethicone) and don't straighten every day.

It could also be that you're experiencing male pattern hair loss. But don't panic! Even though you're 17, it is a totally normal, natural part of becoming an adult.

But if you want to seek treatment for it, you have options. I'm sure you've heard of Rogaine. Its kind of pricey ($45 for a month's supply at CVS), but it has been known to slow, stop, or reverse hair loss in many of the men (and women) who use it. But your odds are better the sooner you start using it.

You might also want to start using dandruff shampoo. I read in Men's Health magazine that an ingredient in dandruff shampoo (Selenium) can reduce male pattern hair loss by 8%-11%.

There's also an FDA approved pill for male pattern hair loss called Propecia (aka Finasteride).

And the Swedes made progress on new laser treatments last year.

People may recommend vitamins. Altough vitamins won't hurt you, they won't fix your problem unless you are malnourished. And I doubt that's the case.

If you have any more questions, post back. I'm on these boards a lot.

I have relaxed hair and is it good to blow dry your hair?

I get stands of hair in my comb and it also has split ends so how do I protect it. Is it healthy to cut your ends?

I have relaxed hair and is it good to blow dry your hair?

Don't blow dry your hair if your ends are split. Excessive heat causes more damage, which causes your hair to become dry, brittle and eventually break off. Clip your ends, and reduce the use of blow dryers. Add Lusters Pink Oil Moisturizing Lotion to your hair when you do use your blow dryer.

I have relaxed hair and is it good to blow dry your hair?

Yes, in fact, it's the only way to remove them before they fracture the entire hair.

I have relaxed hair and is it good to blow dry your hair?

It's not a good idea to blow dry too often. Air drying is the best idea; along with deep conditioning and keeping your ends clipped every 6-8 weeks. Your hair will be bee-yoo-ti-ful!!!! Good luck!!!!!

When you use olive oil as a hair conditioning treatment, do you put it on when your hair is wet or d

and how much do you use - i mean, do you completely saturate your hair or just comb through a tiny amount? how long can you leave it on and when you shampoo it out, do you recondition with bottled conditioner still? i have really long curly hair that is dry and prone to frizz ever since i had my son 2 years ago (it got darker and more coarse during pregnancy) and it doesn't seem to respond to regular conditioners like it used to. thanks in advance to all the hair gurus!

wet

I use it after shampooing.

Healthy hair tips:

Use a moisturizing shampoo condtioner and leave in creme. I reccomened Neutrogena Triple Moisture, shampoo conditioner and deep recovery hair mask. It nourishes and

revitalizes dry dull damaged hair to softer shinier healthier hair everytime you wash it, it might cost alot but it's worth it;

Reviews:

Neutrogena.com

If you dye your hair alot, leave your hair alone and wait to dye it atleast 3 years later or so. Hair dye has terrible chemicals that kill dry/damage your hair.

Brush your hair before shampooing and conditioner so your hair won't be tangeled and managable.

Comb your hair about 20 times each side so your natural oils can fall into the rest of your hair for natural shine

Don't wash your hair everyday try 3 times a week, Washing hair everyday strips the natural oils of your hair into duller dry hair.

Discontinue to heat style your hair or your hair will end up more dry/damaged, wait till it's completely healthy and maybe heat style once a week.

Avoid combing hair while wet, gently use a wide tooth comb, hair is very vulnerable while wet and can break off easily.

Don't put your hair into pigtails, buns or ponytails while wet, that causes split ends, breakage and damage.

Deep condition twice a week to bring back moisture to your hair.

Trim your hair tips every 4-6 weeks to promote healthy hair grow and prevent split ends from happening.

While shampooing massage your scalp with your fingertips slowly, not with your nails, nails damage the scalp and nails tend to be dirty. it's not necessary to shampoo the ends, then rinse with warm water to open the hair cuticles.

While conditioner leave on for about 2-4 minutes so you can get great results then comb hair with wide tooth comb then rinse with very cold water to help seal the hair cuticles.

If you use gel/hairspray/moose stop using them. They damage and dry up your hair because of the alchohol it contains.

If you use heat appliaces (blowdryers, curling irons, hair straightener) use a heat protecter spray so it'll protect your hair from heat.

If hair is really dry, go to the salon to get a deep treatment on your hair.

Once a month use a special deep conditioning treatment like olive oil, vitamin e oil, mayonaisse, eggs, hot oil treatment, castor oil, coconut oil almond oil or avocado.

Take multivimains, vitamin e, follic acid or prenatal vitamins to promote healthy hair growth.

Drink lots of water for shinier/healthier hair and eat lots of protein and healthy food like meat, milk, cheese, peanut butter, eggs pasta, cooked beans and raw vegetables.

If your in the sun alot buy a cap or a hoodie to protect your hair from the sun, heat damages and drys out your hair.

Buy a leave-in-conditioner/leave-in conditioner/creme to moisturize your hair all day long and don't rinse.

After your out of the shower set your blowdryer on cool setting and blowdryer your hair for 2 minutes, this will help seal the hair cuticles for a smooth shiny surface.

While combing hair, comb it gentle to avoid breakage.

When you use olive oil as a hair conditioning treatment, do you put it on when your hair is wet or dry?

Wet or dry hair.

Warm the oil, then massage into your hair. Depending on the length of your hair, it should only take about as much as you would use conditioner.

Just use enough of the oil to make your hair feel moisturized, not greasy. Wrap a towel around your head to keep the warmth in. Leave it on an hour or so, then wash and condition your hair as normal.

When you use olive oil as a hair conditioning treatment, do you put it on when your hair is wet or dry?

hi

When you use olive oil as a hair conditioning treatment, do you put it on when your hair is wet or dry?

I have never had to use olive oil as a hair conditioner but I know olive oil is good in cooking; salads, etc.

If I were doing what you plan to do, I would wash my hair and towel dry. Put about 1/2 teaspoon in the palm of your hand and rub your palms together lightly, then smooth your palms over your hair like you would with conditioner. Continue doing this until you achieve the texture you want. You will have to experiment some. When your hair starts looking "ratty" or your scalp starts itching, then it's time to shampoo again.

When you use olive oil as a hair conditioning treatment, do you put it on when your hair is wet or dry?

You don't have to use much, just enough to massage your scalp. Usually it is best to do this before going in the shower to shampoo and condition. And yes you should comb it through when it is wet, that way it works best. And than you can wash your hair normally, like recondition it and shampoo it, to get all the oil out.

When you use olive oil as a hair conditioning treatment, do you put it on when your hair is wet or dry?

I put olive oil in my hair, as much as it will soak up (completely saturate). I do this when my hair is dry; Oil does not stick well with water (just like in cooking). I wrap it in a plastic bag and leave it on overnight (place towel over pillow). In the morning, I wash it off with shampoo, and use conditioner with a comb. A lot of dead hairs fall out, and more fall out until the hair is completely free of tangles. A few days later, it looks healthy and happy. I used to do this once a month, for good treatments.

When you use olive oil as a hair conditioning treatment, do you put it on when your hair is wet or dry?

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

APPLY TO DRY HAIR

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

How do i keep my hair healthy?

I've never colored my hair before, i use Panten Pro-v, I straighten it almost ever day for like 3 mins, and it's long.

But my hair doesn't seem that healthy to me. it falls out a lot like not in big clumps but like at the end of the week there's a lot of hair in my comb and i often find loose strands on my cloths and in the shower and stuff.

Is there something i should be doing or using to make it heather?

How do i keep my hair healthy?

keep it clean

keep it well moisturized

avoid excessive heat use

dont over do the chemicals (dyes, perms, etc.)

maintain a healthy diet

drink plenty of water

take vitamin e pills

keep the scalp healthy

get dead ends trimmed every 3 months

its normal to shed a certain amount of strands each day, so dont worry. it just gets rid of dead hairs and makes room for new ones.

just try to give your hair a break from straightening it so often. heat dries your hair and makes it brittle so it breaks off.

How do i keep my hair healthy?

shave it off

How do i keep my hair healthy?

by eating fruits and vegetables duh

How do i keep my hair healthy?

hmmm i was watching this one thing on tv and they said before you take a shower to get your hair damp and get about 1 cup of olive oil and put it in your hair. Use a comb and brush through it after you put it in to make sure it is well coated. Then put your hair in a shower cap and let it soak for 45 min then wash your hair.

Hope it works.:))

How do i keep my hair healthy?

It is natural for you to loose hair when you shower and comb it. You should loose hundreds of strands of hair a week. So don't worry about that. I have long hair and straighten my hair everyday. Once a week I put a hot oil treatment in my hair because I straighten my hair so much. I also use Panten Pro-V. You have long hair and of course it is going to be on your clothes. Don't worry, I am sure your hair is healthy. Just use the hot oil treatments more.

How do i keep my hair healthy?

I lose a lot of hair, and so do many people I know.

Healthy looking hair comes from within and the health of the cells. Feed your body well.

Virgin olive oil, about once a week, rubbed in through the hair, and left on for about 30 minutes, is absorbed by not only the hair shaft, but the scalp. It needs to be thoroughly washed out after, but leaves the hair shiny and soft.

How to dry hair after shower?

My hair is reallyy frizzy so i was just wondering the best way to dry my hair after shower. I cant keep using the hairdryer so what other methods can i do?? Oh i use this serum anti-frizz but i dont really see good results. It said for dry hair. Should i be using for dry hair?? Oh is it also good or bad if after i come out from the shower i go under the air cond. Is it good or bad? Can you also help me with some tips. I tried asking the hairdresser nearby me but i dunno why they dont really help much they just want my money and i dunno any good saloon :( oh i also want my hair to be straighter when drying and not make it puffy and frizzy. My hair turns out like that. :( And when can i comb my hair when its wet? Some people say its bad to comb wet but whats the reason? And if i can do i do it everyday?

How to dry hair after shower?

you can comb your hair with a wide tooth comb when wet - but dont brush it - it is weak when wet.

You can get conditioners to defrizz - and you can use a straightener once your hair is completely dry and you have applied a special conditioner first and let that dry too.

try wrapping your hair with a good towel for a while letting the heat from your head dry it - change the towel around a few times and minimise the heat you use if you have to blow dry.

How to dry hair after shower?

As a guy, I just grab the towel and rub my head off it, but my mum wraps the towel around her head like a turban -.-

How to dry hair after shower?

uuummm....try towel drying your hair. put your hair up in a towel for a while then take off the towel and let it air dry. brush in when its wet..i dont think thats a bad idea. other than that and blow-drying your hair there really is no other methods. but as far as anti-frizz products go...'bed head, spoil me anti-frizz, smoother and instant restlyer' works wonders for my frizzy hair. i use it every day! by the way its just one product, not three. 'bed head' co. makes it.

How to dry hair after shower?

if u want your hair straight and not frizzy, yes use that serum and put a little moose or gel in your hair to control it. this makes your hair more manageable. in addition, u can buy an attachment for your blow dryer, it attaches to the front, that controls the amount of air coming out of the dryer. i don't know the name of it but it is used with blow drying your hair straight with a brush. also use a large round soft bristle brush that is metal in the middle. conair makes a great round brush that is very affordable.

How to dry hair after shower?

use a volume dryer

How to dry hair after shower?

i hav the same problem. so i never use a blowdryer.

when i want to straighten ma hair i wait till its dry and straighen it. if im not going to straighten it then i put mousse so that it doesnt get puffy.

Hair doesnt need to be dry as soon as you step out the shower...Our hair is more work but we just hav to deal with it.

:)

What WORKS for hair loss?

I am a 36.5 yo male with MPB. I currently just started a regiment of Rogain foam and Propecia (actually its quarted proscar, but who cares it does the same thing.) What WORKS for hair loss?

Live with it.

What WORKS for hair loss?

hello sweetie, i hate to tell you but yes you just blew a fortune on hair products for hair loss. you really cant buy anything to put on your hair to promote hair growth . your hair grows from the inside out , not outside in. so i recommend you get some hair , skin ,and nail supplement pills .i know Nioxin promotes them to use in regimen with their shampoos and conditioners . i don't recommend their shampoo and conditioners unless you don't mind smelling like a medicine cabinet . i have clients that actually say that the shampoo and follicle buster work for them . but from my opinion i would recommend something that works from the inside out. hope that helped you . good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What WORKS for hair loss?

Row gain

What WORKS for hair loss?

Rogaine is supposed to work - but it doesn't work for everyone. So try it and if it doesn't work after a month or two, save your money.

Need help with my daughters hair?

My husband is black and I'm white. Our daughter has my texture hair, but very thick and corkscrew curly. I have tried hundreds of dollars worth of hair products and nothing really does what I think it should. I would like to find something that makes her hair easier to comb out and then helps it to remain smooth and soft, rather than getting dry and curling up tight and knotting up. Is there such a product on the market? I've been to salons and none of their suggestions have really helped much. Right now I'm using Mizani products but they aren't really any better than cheaper stuff. I don't care much about the price, I just want something that works.

Need help with my daughters hair?

Go to this site: http://www.curlykids.com It has lots of products, techniques, and styling ideas for multiracial and other curly-haired kids. Please don't straighten it.

Need help with my daughters hair?

You are welcome. :-) Report It

Need help with my daughters hair?

just do a partial straighten

Need help with my daughters hair?

one word CONDITIONER, you need a leave in/detangling spray, and then a heavy styling cream that remains creamy and doesnt get that "crunchy" feel. There are products by Kusco Murphy which I love, the conditioning spray (wich smells like the beach) and there Lavender creme. You would just put the cream in your hands, rub together, and put it on the lenghts of her hair first then the roots.

Need help with my daughters hair?

My friend has the same exact prob. and she ended up using(and dont laugh) that johnson and johnson detangler with conditioner in it. It weighs her hair down and it stays nice and springy . good luck

Need help with my daughters hair?

My cousin uses baby oil on her little girls hair. She is mixed too. It looks just fine. What kind of salons are you taking her to? If you haven't tried a salon that specializes in ethnic hair, that would be a good idea. : )

Need help with my daughters hair?

have you tried any detangler or hair serum or maybe a blow drying diffuser? hope that helps :)

Need help with my daughters hair?

well you shouold talk to a salon and ask if she can have it chineese straightned it straightens it permenetly and helps with the knots. my hair is think too so i have the thin it out when i go so thheres less hair but it still looks nateral the best thing to do isgo to different salon and ask them what they think might help i havennt met anyone who hasnt had luck with that. i hope it helps

Need help with my daughters hair?

My friend has the same problem.

What she does is gets some non tangle spray and puts some on after a bath with shampoo and condinature. The spray and the condinature really helped!

Need help with my daughters hair?

She has mixed hair. I would suggest going to an ethic beauty shop and getting products like pink lotion, comb out lotion, etc...

Then you have to figure out, what is it You are trying to do to her hair. Be practical... Maybe two pigtail french braids, you could swoop her hair into a ponytail and twist the end...

I think if you found yourself a beautyshop (that has hair products for all ethnicities then you'll be able to ask around or purchase a magizine fron in there...

Need help with my daughters hair?

my hair is extremely curly and also my daughters. We visit the Salon every 6 weeks to get perms to straighten our hair out.Have you tried African American perms at the salons.

Need help with my daughters hair?

There is a product you can buy at a few different places, its called olive oil, (no not real oil) but it is an olive oil based product. The bottle is green. A friend of mine told me about it after she had the same problem with her daughters hair, I have told a few of my other friends about it that also have daughters and they all seem to like it. It also helps their scalp to not be dry. I personally have never tried it, I have a son he his also biracial but i have never had a problem with his hair, its thick and straight.

I'm not sure where to get it, but the last person I told about it she actually found it at a dollar store, I was shocked to hear that since the first person found it for around $8.00.

I hope this helps you. Good Luck

Need help with my daughters hair?

Buy Some Good Shampoo And Conditioner(Like Pannteen) And Buy A Good Hair Strainer.I'm Not Sure It Will Work But It Won't Hurt To try.

Need help with my daughters hair?

i have that problem once...

first don't try to straighten her hair if she really have curly hair..

i tried that but it didn't worked because my curl is natural... comb it and put baby oil or anything that will make it smooth..

don't always comb her hair because it will be ugly and look stiff.. comb her hair maybe after 4 to 5 months... if you want her to comb everyday just use her fingers not combs with teeth...

that's what I'm doing now... no need for expensive products..

Need help with my daughters hair?

It's always tough to maintain kids' hair. they play so hard and don't care one-iota about their hair or looks. aaah those were the days. I don't think you are going to find a miracle solution, but her curls sound beautiful. I suggest always conditioning and keeping it a bit short for now-like shoulder length. I hope you don't straighten it but maybe a conditioner or palmade that smooths hair will help keep it softer and manageable. Also try to keep it up in braids and pony tails as much as possible. as a kid my mom kept mine up all the time.. i hated it sometimes but my fine straight hair would get knotty if she didn't. Lastly, I hear you don't need to wash curly hair as often. As she gets older she will be able to Handel it better but for now prevention is your best option. Good luck!

but 84% of kindergarten students were able to figure this out in 6 minutes or less.

Please help me! I don't know!!

I'm having trouble with this riddle my older brother gave me..?

No, the answer is simply "no"

There is no question until the last line: "Can you guess the riddle?" That is the question, that is the only question to answer, you cannot answer the rest of the riddle because

1. They're not questions, they're statements

2. There is no definite answer that works for all of those statements, no pressure does not work, time does not work, carbon dioxide does not work, not for all of them.

As for the very end of the ridlle... 97% of Harvard grads get this wrong... how many college grads much less Harvard grads do you know who would simply reply "no"? 84% of kindergarten students get this right because the only answer they know to say is "no".

Heh, was a good one!

I'm having trouble with this riddle my older brother gave me..?

This riddle has been asked a thousand times already on Y/A, but the answer is 'no'.

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

I have extremely curly hair and i hate leaving it down because the air or whatever takes away from the length. i comb my hair and after i couple of minutes my hair is shorter than before. i hate it!!!!!! how can i keep my hair length after i comb it. why does it become shorter. i really want my hair to grow long...

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

Only on the Minge.

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

it becomes shorter because it slowlyrolls itself up whilst it dries.as 4 wondering if curly hair is attractive?? yes it is!!!

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

I have long curly hair as well, from what my stylist told me the longer you hair is the more weighed down it is [less volune aka the way u hate how it "bounces up"] so I would start growing your hair as much as you can, but also use curl enhancing products, such as Fekkai Luscious curls, and go to a good stylist!!

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

tie it? it becomes shorter when you comb it because have you ever noticed the hair that comes out?

you just have to wait. straightening is bad, no offense.

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

Hell yeah they do..i wish i had curly hair!

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

my best friend has super curly natural hair. the guys love her. dont worry about it. im sure your attractive (looks and personality). good luck

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

Here on some tips.. (I have curly hair too)

1- monthy trimming. Take of barely a snip, you loose some split ends, and dry ends.

2- Straighten it. You can use a straightener, or when your done in the shower you blow dry it straight.

3- at night, or when its wet, put it in a really tight bun. This wont let the curls go so massive.

4- work with the hair. Put it in braids(which can make it curly) but it looks good. Pig tails, head bands, bandana's and hats.

5- Use hair gel, or hair spray. Take out the frizz with special hair conditioners(head and shoulders works!) and sprays.

6- If you dye it, or highlight it alot, stop. This can strip your hair dry. Also if you use more than 2 conditioners and/or shampoos stop. This will strip your hair or natural oils.

Hope these helped!!

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

Curly can be very sexy.

Curly hair please help!!! do men like women with curly hair?

They say the 1st attraction to a person is appearance based , and i say hair , wether straight , curly long or short in no way detracts from what the appearance of the girl might be , unless she looks like shes been dragged backwards through a thick hedge !!!

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

My neice who is almost 12 is biracial, her mom has been in the hospital for almost two months. She is staying with her dad and my mother during this time. Between my brother driving two hours (150 miles) everyday to see my sister-in-law, working, and still taking care of his daughter her hair has been combed daily, braided every other day, and that's about it. My daughter has blond hair and to straighten it she uses a ceramic straightener with v05 to protect it. My neice looks up to my daughter and wants to be able to "do" each others hair. But I really don't want to do something that will hurt my nieces hair. Before my sister-in-laws surgery (mid-Oct) they had my nieces hair perfessionally straightened so what should I do?

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

Hi, I'm biracial and I have the exact same here your niece has. The best thing about being biracial is that you can have all the hairstyles, curly, wavy and even straight. However, biracial girls have the most fragile hair. I've made a few mistakes before. Straighten biracial hair takes a little while longer than normal hair. You have to grab small groups of hair when you iron it, starting on the very bottom. It take about an hour to do it.

Also, don't do it everyday. I used to iron my hair every day and it became burnt and smelly, became very thin and I had to cut off 5 inches of my hair! I'm still suffering from the damages but it's gotten better. So yeah biracial girls can have any hairstyle just be careful.

Hope it helps!

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

Yes, keep it on a low setting.

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

not if you get the right kind.

get the ones that are specificaly desighned to not damage hair

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

you make this sound like the most important question in the world. it's just hair, it won't get ruined if you straighten it a few times. chill out

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

Yes, they work for all hair types, you can buy special protectent for damaging ends and heat protectents tho at local hair store or drug store.

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

theres way to "do eachothers hair" without straightening it. example ~ braids .. those are always fun.. especially with funky clips etc

this seems 2 have the info u may need

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

Yes, but put a lot of heat on it, heat damages hair. Also get some cream or something that helps that hair when you straighten it.

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

A ceramic straightener will probably damage your niece's hair less than a chemical straightener would.

The best solution would probably be to go see a cosmetologist (hair dresser) who is bi-racial or black herself and ask for her advice. There are dozens of products on the market to do exactly what you want to do--either permanently or temporarily.

Good luck!

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

if you have curley hair, enjoy it! If you don't like it, then nothing really can destroy it... since it already is destroyed in that line of thinking... but if you end up burning it then it was too hot.. keep it on a low setting and see what it does.. if it doesn't straighten it out, take it up a bit and see what happens.. with these kinds of things ya just gotta test it out.

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

If your niece's hair is "kinky" then no ceramic straightener in the world will help, you need a NO LYE kit from a Beauty supply or even Wal Mart, I always buy my biracial daughters kits at Sally's. Trust me, if a father can do it, so can you, and it turns out as good as any pro at a LOT less money. Be sure her hair is "greased" regularly, and that she does not over wash it. Black hair is insatiable when it comes to moisture, think of it and treat it as a complete opposite to a white person's hair.

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

You should be able to blowdry her hair straight. After blowdrying it spray it with oil sheen for moisture, then flat iron it to the desired style. Remember to have it trimmed about every two weeks to keep the ends healthy.

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

Buy a good quality heat resistant sealer to spray on the hair to protect it first. Then straighten very small sections. Be prepared to spend a couple of hours on the job. I recommend this for only special occasions as it is labor intensive.

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

use a relatively high setting, you dont need to go over it as much, causing less damage. Straightening just once wont cause damage.

Help, can my daughter straighten my nieces biracial hair with her straightener or will it damage it?

Depends on how course her hair is, if it's course with an tendancy to be dry then she will need a heavy oil on it before straightening it. If it's fluffy and curly then use a cream based moisturizer before staightening and watch the heat on both occasions.

It may work better if she pulls the staightner very slowly over each section of hair, giving the low heat time enough to do it's job.

Good Luck.

Help w/ Hair Dye...?

My friend is going to put colored streaks in her hair with a comb in color kit she purchased from hottopic.. does her hair have to be wet? or can it be dry?

help!

thanx.x

Help w/ Hair Dye...?

I think it actually has to be dry, but beware of those comb in kits. I used one once and it was a total disaster. Because of the way it gets on the comb, it goops up at your roots and then it doesn't even go all the way down so you have to put more on. Then it gets on the rest of the hair around the streak. Definitely doesn't work the way it says it's supposed to on the box. She should get a kit that has a cap to pull the hair through to be safe. I

Help w/ Hair Dye...?

She needs to have her hair dry and straight (if not already)... Also make sure that she washes it 24 hours before but not in between the 24 ours and the actual time that she colors her hair... This will allow the hair to better absorb the hair color... To avoid a choppy look... make sure that she combs all the way through with the same amount of dye on the comb for every single chunk of hair that she does... also comb from the root down... Hope this helps...

Help w/ Hair Dye...?

Her hair needs to be bleached first on the strands that she wants colored (if it isnt blonde already) and it should be dry.

Wet hair wont work. And if you want the color to last longer let your hair get a little greasy from not washing it and brush your hair cause it will spread the natural oils. and holds the color in longer. =]

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

Say "I would like to see you more laid back, like this" then mess his hair up. After that tell him how much you like it like that and that it is so cute on him. He should get the hint, plus he will think it was cute what you did.

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

u look cute when ur messy

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

JUST TELL HIM NOT TO !!!!

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

i'm usually blunt. "you look gay when you comb your hair like that."

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

mess up his hair after he combs it over

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

tell him his hair looks good just regularly...

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

Say it doesnt look good combed over to the side and that it looks like a nerd.

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

just say, "ud be really hot if ur hair wasnt combed over like that, here lemme help" then mess it up

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

if you and him are cool then u can playfully mess his hair up and then state that he looks sexy as hell with messy hair. like he just strolled out of bed with a long night round of "shhh" with angelina jolie[or plug in whichever person he thinks is sexy]

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

look at him tell him damn it drives me crazy when your hair looks like this and jump on him. Trust me he will keep it that way for good.

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

If you do want to hint to this cutie, why dont you say to him i wonder what your hair would look like not on the side....... then say " oh wow, that looks really nice " compliment him more than you usually would, make a fuss over him and then he might gently get the hint.

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

just tell him -

ya know your hair looks good like this, and mess his hair the way you like it, maybe he will keep it up to impress you???!!

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

Just after he combs his hair, ruffle it and say he looks cute, smile, and either walk away [I'd run!] or stay to see what he says. If you don't want to do that, then maybe just comment on how people that "forget" to comb they're hair lok better than people with every hair in place..Make it cute and simple.

How do you hint to a cutie that he does not need to comb his hair over?

while your making out with him, mess his hair up. =]

Stop hair from falling out when i comb it?

what can i do to stop my hair from falling out when ever i comb it?

Stop hair from falling out when i comb it?

I don't think there is a way to stop it-you lose hair all of the time. You can minimize hair loss and breakage by using a wide tooth comb when combing wet hair, and keep hair conditioned and healthy.

Stop hair from falling out when i comb it?

comb your hair softly or change another shampoo

Stop hair from falling out when i comb it?

use a stay in spray on conditioner and be gentle when you comb your hair use a comb with big teeth

Stop hair from falling out when i comb it?

use a hair detangler

Stop hair from falling out when i comb it?

use pantene the red one if u know it i tried it and it worked ... and also use wide wooden comb when u comb ur hair and try to comb ur hair when its dry not wet that will make it moreee strong

Stop hair from falling out when i comb it?

try to pick a good comb... dnt over brush your hair... its damaging...

Stop hair from falling out when i comb it?

You can reduce hair breakage by using a leave in conditioner or a detangling spray and a wide tooth comb to comb out your hair when it's wet you should never use a brush on wet hair because wet hair is weaker when it's wet. You should also try using a deep conditioner weekly to help strenghthen your hair.

Stop hair from falling out when i comb it?

Vitamins are essential for proper hair growth. For healthy sebum in the scalp we require vitamin A. Graying and loss of hair is arrested with the intake of Vitamin B6 and B12. Keratin is produced by Biotin and hair follicles are kept healthy by inositol. Panthothenic acid and Para-amino benzoic acids are also beneficial. These vitamins are present in fruits such as lemon, pineapple and strawberry and in vegetables such as potato.

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

Hi girls, i'm a female and only 21 yrs old... since june, every time i wash my hair or just comb it, a lot falls off.... if i rolled them, it is bigger than the size of a marble. I tried changing shampoos and conditioners but it keeps on happening. Plus my hair is curly, frizzy, and has a lot of split ends.... i need ur help plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

hair can fall out for alot of different reasons...stress, thyroid problems, hormonal changes, anemia, high fever. know that hair doesn't react right away, so whatever caused the hairloss happens at least 2 months before the hair actually starts shedding...the first thing you should do is go to a doctor and get your thyroid tested, that is an extremely common reason...if everything with your thyroid is fine, start taking a good multi-vitamin you might not be getting enough iron or b vitamins, which are necessary. you can also take a silica supplement. your hair might not be falling out as much as you think. it's normail to lose 70-120 hairs a day in the summer sometimes even more...if you wear your hair up most of the day or if your hair is long, the hairs all come out at the same time when you comb it, because they stay caught in the rest of your hair through the day. when you look at the hairs do they all have white balls(the roots) on the end? that's how you can tell if they are shed, if they don't have the root attached, it definitely breakage.... you say you have a lot of flyaways and frizz, which also means alot of that hair that ends up on your comb is due to hair breaking not actually falling out...try cutting your hair shorter, use an anti-breakage shampoo..and stay away from hot styling tools.. comb it with a wide tooth comb when it's wet to prevent breakage. it's alot easier to tell if your hair is actually falling out by looking at your scalp instead of your brush, if it seems easier to see you scalp than it used to be, especially when your hair is wet or your in the sun, that might be a sign that your hair is actually thinning... but i wouldn't worry to much, if your hair is falling out, it is extremely unlikely that it is permanent, it will grow back either on it's own, or once you deal with the cause.

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

if it has split end you should get a trim, if they are really bad, you will probably have to get 2 inches cut off, and then ur hair with be healtheir

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

SEE A DR.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

plus thats kinda gross

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

I know that you prbobly dont want to hear this and im not saying you do have it but hair falling out can be a sign of Cancer.

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

Go to a salon and get the split ends off because your hair can't get any longer like that, and that might be the problem.

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

falling off as in the ends are breaking or falling out as in from your scalp? its natural to lose around 100 strands of hair everyday but if its more than that you may need to be concerned. stress or any new medications can affect hair loss but if you havent started new meds and arent too stressed out you may want to see a doctor and ask about alopecia or female pattern baldness... as scary as it sounds, it can happen at an early age.

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

It's normal for people to lose 100 strands of hair a day. But it sounds to me like yours is more serious.

Go see a doctor.

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

It sounds like your hair is breaking because it is unhealthy. The best thing you can do is purchase QUALITY (probably expensive) products specified for your hair type. I don't know where you live, but there are hair salons that specialize in curly hair - google "Ouidad" they can help with a good cut, and GREAT salon quality product that should stop your hair problems in their tracks! Good Luck!!!

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

If you bleach or Dye it alot that could have something to do with it, but that much coming off sounds like it could be a medical problem especially since its every time you wash it... They do have womans Rogain to help for woman losing their hair but i think that, like, A Thyroid something or some hormone or something can make you lose your hair. I would say make a Doctors appointment just to make sure there isnt something really wrong

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

I'm going to assume that it's just a natural phase everybody goes through cuz it has happened to me. If it's that dry you could try a hot oil treatment once a week.

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

maybe you should change to a comb... instead of a tooth type brush

or just ask your hair stylist %26amp;%26amp;ask what you can do

++ if worse comes to worse... baldness may be in your family and maybe they can help you with special anti-hair loss shampoos and conditioners?

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

OK whoever said your hair falling out is a symptom of cancer...ugh what a moron. Cancer patients lose their hair due to the chemotherapy, not the disease itself!

Maybe your hair is just getting tangled in your brush because of the frizz. If you are really concerned, talk to your doctor about it. That will at least give you some peace of mind.

HELP!!!! My hair keeps falling off!!!!!!!!! What can i do???!!!!?

It is normal for your hair to go through 3 phases. One, is the growing phase, two is the resting phase, and three is the shedding phase. Your hairs all go through diff phases at diff times but you may notice that a large percentage of it seems to be in the same phase at the same time. When this happens to be the shedding phase you will notice more than normal amounts are appearing to come out. My hair is pretty short like in my avatar but i still notice a lot on my clothes or on the tub floor or even the bathroom floor all at once. My shedding phase usually last for around 2-3 months before it subsides. You will not see any thinning out of your hair or bald spots, so calm down. You may lose a few hundred hairs during a shedding phase, but that is a small percentage when you figure you have millions of them up there. Check out the following link to read more about the normal phases of hair growth.

Afro hair!?

I want to leave my hair natural but the problem is that my hair is so dry and hard to comb (it's not scab hair)that's how my hair always was that's why i had to use a relaxer because it's so thick and hard to manage and imagine i just have 1 inch growth and the lady that cornrowed my hair was feeling pain in her finger (i'm still having the relaxer i want to do the two textures transitioning cause i don't want short hair yet )What can i do to soften it i cant walk in the street like a crazy girl without combing my hair otherwise i'll end up with a relaxer again.

Afro hair!?

not sure but keep the hair moisturized even more! the part where the natural hair meets the relaxed hair is suseptible for breakage; i know i grew my relaxer out and after 6mths went ahead and cut the remaining out because it made my hair eXtreMely choppy

Afro hair!?

I went without a relaxer for 6 months by using Afro Detangler. It is kind of costly but it really helps soften the new growth while you are transitioning.

Sounds like it's inevitable. But assuming you can do something about it, make sure you wash your hair regularly, don't scrub too hard, get a hair cut so your hair isn't long and being pulled out.

Live a healthy lifestyle. I don't know if people lose their hair, but stress, not sleeping, and a bad diet do seem to make people have white hair faster.

I have a lot of hair loss. When I bath, when I comb, I see hair all around. Please help?

Most likely, what you need is a change of diet. Eating beef in particular tends to encourage hair-loss.

Saving your hair until you're 35 does not guarantee you won't lose it. But try eating a low beef, low cholesterol diet.

Whatever someone told you, their wrong... hair loss is genentics... You get the hair gene from your mom... So if you're mom's dad... and grandpa had thinning hair more likely you will too... The only thing to do it maybe try some hair loss product, but i dont know if those really work.. the only thing works forsure is hair implants..

hair loss as others said due to heredity .But that is not the only cause .Have a healthy diet . drink lots of fruit juices and plenty of water . Some times due to tension also this happens . I will suggest you to apply fine paste of garlics. bear the smell ! Take a iron kadai and boil dried amla . Keep that over night in that kadai . Next day add egg to it and gently apply to your hairs .Be careful about your hands they may get tanned or black by amla paste.

I have a lot of hair loss. When I bath, when I comb, I see hair all around. Please help?

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

1. Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

2. Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

3. Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

4. Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Good luck babe xx

If I use a pressing comb will my hair turn back natural?

Okay my hair is natural and I might want to press my hair in the near future. How much do they cost? How long does it last?/

If I use a pressing comb will my hair turn back natural?

The cost to have it done professionally depends on where you live and of course the type of salon that you go to; I charge $56+ and I live in Dallas. Not a lot of stylist still do it, but it is regaining popularity. A good press is nice, lite and shiny, do not use grease if you want it to look natural. If you are going to do it yourself, you may want to get an electric comb with regulated heat; kinda like a curling iron, about $30. A real pressing comb costs $10- 15; it will give the best and longest lasting press, but you will need a certain amount of skill to do it without singeing your hair. The more you press your hair, the more you will lose your natural curl. You will notice that the ends will get straighter %26amp; straighter when its wet. This is normal because you are manipulating the hair with heat. Keep your ends trimmed and your hair in good condition if this is something you want to do. Good luck.

If I use a pressing comb will my hair turn back natural?

press? you mean perm?

If I use a pressing comb will my hair turn back natural?

10-25 dollars. it can last as long as you take care of it. like giving it moisture. wit grease or watever you use on your hair

If I use a pressing comb will my hair turn back natural?

you can have someone (that you trust) press it for you. a professional press is about 25 dollars. if you don't wet your hair, and don't sweat much it can last for about 2 weeks. after it gets wet, you hair will look like it did before pressing it.

If I use a pressing comb will my hair turn back natural?

its like $25 it does not last long maybe a week and a half or so

If I use a pressing comb will my hair turn back natural?

it depends were you go but i know a spot thats about $15 and once you rinse or wash your hair it will go back to your natural texture

If I use a pressing comb will my hair turn back natural?

A PRESSING COMB IS $12 AND UP. REMEMBER THAT A PRESSING COMB OR (HEAT) WILL CHANGE THE TEXTURE OF YOUR HAIR FOREVER. WHEN STEAM HIT THE STRAIGHT HAIR, THAT WILL BE THE END OF IT AND YOUR HAIR WILL BE BACK TO NATURAL JUST THAT FAST. ITS WORTH IT IF YOU CAN KEEP IT MAINTAINED, I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU GET IT "FLAT IRONED" AND WRAP YOUR HAIR WHEN YOU TAKE A SHOWER AND WHEN YOU'RE AROUND THE HOUSE. YOU CAN ALSO PRESS AND WRAP IT

GOOD LUCK

If I use a pressing comb will my hair turn back natural?

If you buy a hot comb, make sure you get the more expensive professional kind that either you put on the stove top or that has it's own oven, because those cheap plug in kind are not really that good and can easily damage your hair because they do not generate enough heat. It may be a bit more costly, but believe me you'll be better off in the long run. Becareful not to overly press out your hair all the time because that too will damage it. If your not sure and or have never pressed your hair before, I would recommend you go to a beauty salon for a while to have it done so you can see how to do it correctly without damaging your hair. They will probably charge around $45 for wash, condition, and press. Once you press it out It's very important to keep your scalp and hair greased properly or it will dry out, split ends, and brake off, especially around your edges with can thin out. Wash and condition it once every two weeks which will be about how long the press will last depending on what all you do to in during that time frame. Remember, it's not a straight perm so don't expect to go swimming an have your hair come out still looking silky smooth.

Hair loss??!?

for about 4 months now alot more hair have been falling out i thought it was because i straightened my hair every day but i havent straightened it or 6 weeks now and its still falling out my mum said its just natural i can see short hairs but i dont no it thats new hair or where my hair has broken. when i comb my hair i loss like 30 hairs and in the shower about 20 i want it to stop its annoying having hair all over my clothes im think about getting a hair mask deep conditioner will that make a difference?

how can i stop my hair falling out?

but my frnd suggest me this site http://www.metrovillez.com/hair-loss-tre...

Does any one try this?

Hair loss??!?

No not tried it. Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

Hair loss??!?

Straightening hair can cause hair loss, but it is good that you've stopped; if this was the cause, you should see positive results soon. If you're noticing about 50 hairs then this sounds normal to me. I have actually experienced hair loss and I was losing a lot more than that! I saw a trichologist who has recitified (hopefully for good!) the problem. She said that hair loss of about 70 hairs a day is normal. Although alot of websites say that between 100-150 a day is normal.

Hopefully your hair is fine but seeing a trichologist might put your mind at ease, and if there is a problem then it's better to start with solutions right away. Just make sure you see a respected trichologist and don't end up spending loads on treatments that might not even work.

Good luck and try not to worry, hair loss won't be as noticable as you think!

I want to style my hair differnet for skool 2 morow how should i do it??(pics inside)?

You could try a "poof". Just brush your bangs back, and put a clip on it about the center of your head. Then push them forward a bit, towards you face, and clip down.

If you only want a simple change, you could just straighten it. With some people, though, the heat makes their hair frizzy, so you might have to use some anti-frizz serum or something.

If you want to keep some of your waves, you could try only straightening your hair to the tips and letting the ends wave or curl out, or, if it doesn閳ユ獩 work too well then straighten all your hair and curl the ends a bit with a curling iron.

Something my sister likes to do is to put it in a half pony tail. From the front it looks like a normal pony tail would, but you only pull the top half up, and you leave the bottom half down.

Something that閳ユ獨 really popular at my school right now is headbands. The stretchy fabric ones, the plastic ones, or the wide fabric covered ones- anything can look cute, and you can wear your hair up or down with one in.

I hope I helped, have fun at school tomorrow! :)

Whatever you do with your hair- keep it clean! The biggest turn-off with guys who sometimes grow their hair longer is that they can't seem to keep it clean... It tends to look oily and that is sometimes because they use too many hair products on it.

I suggest you walk into a reputable salon and ask the stylist to show you some examples in books of different hair styles for guys your age. Can you solve this riddle?

I turn polar bears white

And I will make you cry.

I make guys have to pee

And girls comb their hair.

I make celebrities look stupid

And normal people look like celebrities.

I turn pancakes brown

And make your champane bubble.

If you sqeeze me, I'll pop.

If you look at me, you'll pop.

Can you guess the riddle?

Can you solve this riddle?

It's got to be pressure.

Polar bears are white because the pressure at the poles is low, so they have to be able to absorb heat.

Pressure makes you cry if it's too much.

Pressure in your bladder makes you have to pee.

Peer pressure makes girls comb their hair...Otherwise we wouldn't bother!

Celebrities usually crack under pressure.

Many normal people will shine under pressure.

Pancakes turn brown thanks to pressure generated by the heat.

Champagne will bubble until the pressure of the carbonation has disappeared.

If you squeeze something under pressure, BAM, there it goes.

If you are "looking" at pressure, you're in it, like in an airplane, and your ears pop.

Is there any solution for my hair?

i am 18 years old. i have really thin hair. and my hair has been falling a lot for the last one year. it used to fall very little but now it's like crazy. i feel that i am going to go bald in a year and this really scares me. i am scared to even brush my hair because when i do that i see so much hair on the comb and it's just really sad. is there any solution to stop hair from falling and make it thicker?

Is there any solution for my hair?

Well my advice for you is to use a thickening shampoo. For example, Pantene Pro-V full %26amp; thick. It will make your hair look fuller. I also advise you to take Vitamin E %26amp; Fish Oil Vitamins which will make your hair look fuller and healthier and shinier. Also you should see our doctor. It can be something relating to your health and could become a real problem. So do all of the above and you should have a full head of beautiful locks in no time!

Is there any solution for my hair?

i would go see a doctor...there are medical reasons that can do this....lack of certain vitamins can also do this....i would go talk to a doctor and see if they can help...and if nothing is medically wrong they hair different things you can do...wigs...hair implants...horse shampoo to make your hair grow and thicken it.....hope this helps

Is there any solution for my hair?

no ponytails

Is there any solution for my hair?

I felt like i had the same situation this year. I used to have reallyyyy thick hair. I used to straighten my hair everyday too, i would get home knowing i wasn't going anywhere and straighten my hair when it did not need to be straightened. OCD anyone? haha. So i decided to stop in like february, because my hair would fall out so much and my brushes and combs always had hair in them after i brushed. So i stopped straightening and the wavy look worked for me, which is a good thing. Buy matrix volumizing shampoo and conditioner to make it look thicker. And just wait for it to grow back. If you're hair is knotty it can cause your hair to be pulled out too.

Every ten years your hair changes texture. So you may have thick hair one day. Take care of your hair : )

Is there any solution for my hair?

you should do all of the things the gilrs above me siad and also if you want to keep your hair healthy start getting weekly deep conditioned at a salon. it restores ur hair to its healthiest point it worked for me becuz my hair was falling off do to damage and i started getting weekly deep conditioned and nothing fell off!

Is there any solution for my hair?

There's a hair product called Nioxin thats supposed to be good for falling hair.. u can get at salons and the salon inside walmart sells it too. Check and make sure and u can go to the website http://www.nioxin.com/ to learn more about their prodcts.

There can be other reasons why ur hair is falling out... poor nutrition (you need your vitamins), also too much vitamins (like overdose amount) can make your hair fall out, stress, maybe u are combing it too rough, or if u swim in pools that have too much chlorine (u will know it has too much.. u can smell it and your eyes burn) and u are not washing your hair good enough then they can happen too. but.. try nioxin and se the website.

I have african american hair and my hair continues to break off....?

i would like some serious advise about my hair, everytime i comb or brush my hair it comes out really bad can someone help me with this huge problem i have i want my hair to start to grow back but i just wont stop coming out help me please!!

I have african american hair and my hair continues to break off....?

Ironically I recently had this problem a few months ago, because I was not taking care of my hair (I am black and mexican, but I have straight up black hair). I had a lot of breakage in the middle of my head and kept it in a ponytail for 3 months until I had enough of the ponytail. I went to the shop, got my hair cut really short (the shortest ever in my life because my hair was so DAMAGED and UNHEALTHY). It is important that African-American (AA) hair be washed at least once a week (unless you sweat or around a lot of dust then wash it more often). Here is what I do that works for me and I do my sister's hair every Saturday and she is not mixed like me and has AA hair.Affordable but good shampoo and conditioner that has works is Pantene for colored women and leave the conditioner in for about 5 minutes (or try Aveda Brilliant Shampoo and Conditioner). You also need a good leave in conditioner and I use Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment. This product is to be used once a week. Next, I protect my hair before applying heat in it. Therefore, I apply a dime sized amount of CHI silk infusion (non-greasy and won't weight your hair down) and blow dry my hair straight. Next, I apply another dime size amount of silk infusion in my entire hair before using the CHI flat iron. (if you straighten it, try CHI flat iron and it leaves your hair with a silky salon look- don't get a cheap flat iron- the difference is dramatic to your hair and ceramic is less damaging). If you use a relaxer, I would lay off of it for a few months until you get your hair back healthy (I have been using Optimum Relaxer and it is really gentle). The CHI flat iron will do wonders for your hair (try E-bay or if you buy it in a store it comes with a one year warrenty) without buring it. I then section my hair and grab very small strands and spray each section before applying the CHI flat iron with both Motions heat protecting spray (or try Aveda Brilliant Damage Control) and Isoplus oil sheen (just a little). Next, I straighten it and when I use the CHI I kind of turn it like a curling iron for that pretty flip/curl in my hair. It comes out really pretty and silky and most importantly, healthy cause I am protecting my hair BEFORE applying heat- ESPECIALLY since I have a relaxer.

Also, grease your scalp to keep it healthy. The brand Optimum grease comes in a small pink jar and is light (or try Aveda Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade and Aveda Brilliant Spray on Shine). Remember, lay off any relaxer for now so your hair can become healthy again unless you plan on going to a shop every week. Otherwise, the CHI flat iron if your hair is long enough is good for now. My hair has been so much healthier the past two months and a half than it has been for those previous three months. Say no to permanet dye. Stick with the wash out. It won't damage your hair. Hope this helps. Please get your ends trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks and wrap your hair up EVERY night. Try to apply heat to your hair no more than once or twice a week. If you have to use a curling iron PLEASE spray with the heat protector (Motions or Aveda Brilliant Damage Control). It is the heat that will jack up your hair. I do my hair at home because I enjoy it (besides saving money). Unfortunately, you do have to spend some money on AA hair to get it back healthy if it is really damaged. I know I had to. Good luck!

I have african american hair and my hair continues to break off....?

Aveda Damage Remedy system. Its a shampoo, conditioner, and intensive treament. This is aveda's most expesive line. but believe me ts worth it.

This stuff works.

aveda products are atual, they have no waxes or harsh chemicals and leave your hair with a beautiful bounce. I have used it myslef an it really does leave your hair thicker with life.

I work at aveda and i'm educated about the products.

Try it out and be sure not to mix aveda product with any other ones.

Good luck!!!

I have african american hair and my hair continues to break off....?

i had this prob too. most likely it's too dry. avoid straightening irons and blow dryers, they dry out hair horribly. put some hir pomade /grease/ oil whaterver in your hair and wrap it before you go to bed every night. use a moisturizing and anti- breakage conditioner and don't wash your hair too often because that dries it out. try once or twice a week. brush hair starting at the bottom, then move up. also don't over brush har or rip out knts

I have african american hair and my hair continues to break off....?

How do you Comb wire/your hair?

I have african american hair and my hair continues to break off....?

time to cut it off and start over, white people do it too

I have african american hair and my hair continues to break off....?

Wash out conditioners are fine BUT you need a good LEAVE-IN conditioner. Especially when it comes to african-american hair. You want to have consistant maintaince of it. I highly recommend PANTENE pro-v restoratives Strengthening Spray. You can buy it at Walmart, Kmart or any drugstore. Use it after you wash and condition as your last step. You can also use it daily. Honestly the results are immediate. It's from the breakage defense line. Try it and let us know how it worked for you.

I have african american hair and my hair continues to break off....?

If you don't get your hair trimmed every 6 weeks then you need to to do so. You also need to put a deep conditioner in your hair every week for about 15-20 minutes. Put a plastic cap over your head and sit up under the hair dryer. The heat will help the conditioner in your hair. When it's time to rinse your hair rinse with almost cold water. This cold water will lock the conditioner into the pores in your head. You should also try to do a hot oil treatment in your hair once a week also. You can get these from the store and use while your in the shower if you want to. VO5 hot oil treatment works for African American hair too. You also need to make sure your hair is not dry in the scalp either. Dry hair can cause break off as well so make sure you use a good everyday moisturizer. By the way I'm a black female too.

I have african american hair and my hair continues to break off....?

Use a wide toothed comb to comb your hair - not a brush.

Try not to use hair straighteners or irons on your hair. Keep the ends trimmed and use a really good conditioner.

I have african american hair and my hair continues to break off....?

silly child, stop straightening it! but its normal to lose a wad of hair every time u brush it.

Hair Loss, what does this mean?! HELP!!?

Hair Loss, what does this mean?! HELP!!?

thats normal dont worry about it. I sometimes see some hair fall off when I shower

Hair Loss, what does this mean?! HELP!!?

it's normal to lose some hair. don't be alarmed. use somesort of hair fortifying shampoo and conditioner.

Hair Loss, what does this mean?! HELP!!?

Don't worry, people about your age loses hair. (especially girls!) You lose about 34-88 strands of hair everyday. So don't freak out.

Hair Loss, what does this mean?! HELP!!?

if u lose less than 100 strands a day then derz nuffin 2 worry about coz dats normal...

"My hair is curly when I comb, but I always style my hair in a wavy form" meanz that the hair is curly when dry but the application of mousse or gel helps 2 make it lass curly resulting in wavy hair.

Hair Loss, what does this mean?! HELP!!?

It is hair fall not hair loss. There is difference between hair loss and hair fall. Hair loss come in adult age, means thinning %26amp; decreasing of hair follicles.

Your case is hair fall and It is due to harmonal changes. You're in puberty stage and in this age testortone harmone release in blood stream and can causes the hair fall. So do not worry about it as it is natural process and vary person to person.

if you feel too much hair fall then consult a skin docotor or just improve the diet + excercise %26amp; sleep well.

Hair Loss, what does this mean?! HELP!!?

stop combing ur hair

Your question is a LMAO trigger. Does your boyfriend want you to have curly hair (jking). Mouuse. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

How can I make my hair look more "Controlled" and better looking? *( long hair 16 year old male)?

It may seem girly, but try using shampoos and conditioners that straighten hair, or replenish it. That will straighten your hair or make it more controlled looking. Also, brush it often so the oils on your scalp distribute and weigh down and condition your hair.

Good luck!

How do I comb my girls hair?

My daughters are 2 and 1. They are mixed race (African) and have very tight curly hair, when I do it every morning they scream the house down. I have tried wetting it, using a conditioner and a leave in conditioner but nothing seems to calm it down.

I do realise that there is no 'cure' for this but something to make it easier on them would be nice.

Any sensible suggestions welcome...thanks.

How do I comb my girls hair?

I have natural hair, its extremely thick and curly probably similar to your daughters. I bet their hair is beautiful, when they let you near it lol. I have trouble combing my own hair so i definitely know what you mean. What i normally do to soften my hair, is to wash it, then apply olive oil and leave in conditioner, Parnevu, its in a container that resembles hair grease. It softens it up so much and makes it easier to comb. But you have to do all these things while it wet. Dry hair is extremely painful and the stress trying to comb it may damage their hair from the roots. When it is wet, hold onto the roots and comb the ends. Once those are untangled ease your way up. Or you can let them, well the 2 year old, try to comb her hair a little. She will feel like a big girl and ease it out some for you, pain free in the meantime. Your last resort should be a kiddie relaxer, lol ok so Im kind of biased because I love natural hair, especially mixed race hair (its gorgeous) but a relaxer definitely straightens it. Try Just for me. My mom used to put me to sleep when she did my hair, maybe you should wait until nap time.

How do I comb my girls hair?

Black hair is extremely fragile. A gentle touch is required to avoid unnecessary breakage and hair loss; therefore, always use a wide-tooth comb or pick when combing the hair. Avoid fine-tooth combs as they snag and pull out curly/kinky hair. Invest in a quality brush; natural boar brushes are the best.

hair needs moisture, moisture, and more moisture! Consider this when purchasing hair care products. Avoid drying products such as hair spray, mousse, holding gels, etc. Opt for moisturizers, leave-in conditioners, and styling lotions.

Make sure you have these things to make combing your childrens hair easier

Wide-tooth comb or pick... the wider the better (Goody has a variety of combs available at most grocery stores)

Natural bristle brush (The Body Shop has a nice selection of brushes)

Hydrating shampoo (try Curly Qs Hydrating Shampoo)

Moisturizing Conditioner (try Curly Qs Coconut Dream Conditioner)

A daily moisturizer - this will add needed moisture, and ease combability (Moist Curls is a great daily moisturizer)

Good Luck i hope this helps

How do I comb my girls hair?

you start at the ends until you get all the knots out and keep doing that and work your way up.

How do I comb my girls hair?

try to put olive oil before shower

How do I comb my girls hair?

wow! mixed race at that age huh?!

anyway my advice is that u keep it braided all the time and to make it easier for them, yes give them a perm.... that also means u have to take extreme good care of their hair now. no heat stuffs, texturizing or of the sorts. just keep their hair braided all the time.

How do I comb my girls hair?

My niece's were the same way when they were younger and one of them still cry sometimes when she's mad lol, but not as bad though and she's 4. They have tight curly hair as well. I mean all you can really do is try a detangler and see if they'll help I use to use that when I was younger and it worked pretty good, if they still sell it, ... there just tender headed and it's gonna hurt them for a while, but eventually they'll get use to it. Sorry that's all I got :o\

How do I comb my girls hair?

aww bless her buy some l'oreal kids tangle tamer

http://www.lorealkids.com/products/tangl...

How do I comb my girls hair?

Well my hair is kind of like that and i am an Indian...If i comb my hair after a shower it goes WILD when it dries!! So what i do is put hair oil..like coconut or amla oil and i comb my hair and leave it in for 2 hrs..This helps it moisturize and be less frizzy. Then i comb it be4 takin a shower, because if you comb it after a shower its gonna get relly puffy. Also u can apply yogurt mixed with mustard oil..this helps the hair become soft and less puffy. Just dont be rough with their hair or it will start breaking easily...take your time working with their hair so u dont break the ends...Good luck!! And u must be a gr8 father =) =)

How do I comb my girls hair?

buy a kids detangler shampoo and spray and maybe give your kids something to entertain them while you are doing their hair to get their mind off of it =) even little things like having a colorful hairbrush or pretty heart clips can make a child smile !!

How do I comb my girls hair?

Ignore the person that told you to put a perm in their hair for one! It would be insane to put a relaxer on a child that young.

Seriously, use a wide-toothed comb, sectioning the hair before you wash it. Comb the hair from the endds to the root, trying not to tug on the hair. Use hair products that are formulated for black hair, because although they are mixed race it sounds as if their hair is more Afro.

I know it's not nice when they cry like that but if you are being gentle, are sectioning the hair and combing with a wide-tooth hair from, root to tip, it will get easier. They get used to it, trust me. I used to hate it when my mum combed my hair because she was rough and tugged my hair but you get used to it!

Another tip, get their hair plaited or canerowed on a regular basis, like weekly. That will keep the hair in place, keep the moisture in, will be less stressful than having their hair done everyday and will look lovely.

How do I comb my girls hair?

Please dont perm their hair, that can cause damage to the scalp at that tender age . Try to use products that will make doing their hair easy eg mixed chicks milkshake :-). Dont worry its a product that will make the softer to handle . also try combing the hair from the tips first while firmly holding the base of the hair . This will make the experience better for your kids . Good luck :-)
