your hair will stay curled, but if you really want them to stay you can put in just a light hairspray. If not, they will stay, but for not as long as you may want them to.. No worries
your hair will be straight if you you a straightener.
the curls will not last long time at all. you need to apply a hairspray after you curled your hair to keep it curly.
And what if he combs it but doesn't braid it and not using product.
The reason I asked this question is because I'm growing my hair, it's like 4 months now, it seems to me like it's still the same level (3 inches).

Some hair grows quicker than others and some people just can't grow there hair. Hair will only grow to a certain length, it won't completely stop but it will slow down the growth when it gets to a certain length

I try to brush it but I always hear the sounds of my hair getting caught and breaking...which makes me sad :( So then I try to put more conditioner in when I shower but once my hair dries it's like there's no difference. I've tried putting my hair up all day but I just get loads of knots where the elastic was. I'm trying to grow out my hair to donate, if that explains things. Brushing/combing my hair is pure dread! help!
Try some protein or a deep conditioner. Most importantly, I think, since I have long hair and use bleach on it, is a LEAVE in conditioner. Your hair is porous like your skin, and we live in a drying environment... So, just like your skin absorbing lotion, use a leave in conditioner on the bottom half of your hair. Keep it off the root area to avoid the greasy look. K professional stylist:D
I dont know how to stop it but all I can say is just start from the bottom and work your way up so it isn't damaging your hair as much.
If you have long, thick hair, from personal experience, I can tell you that using a leave in conditioner helps dramatically. Conditioning in the shower helps, (especially if you allow the conditioner to penetrate your scalp for at least 3 minutes w/the steam from the shower to help open up your hair follicles). follow w/ a cool rinse.
If this alone is not working for you though, try Pantene's spray-in /leave in conditioner after you get out of the shower and let your hair towel dry for a few minutes. If you don't care for/use Pantene products, there are plenty of brands to choose from. If you go to the manufacturer's web sites, you can usually obtain free samples, so that way, you get a few options for what works best for you. Best of luck!
you can try combing it out while its wet[works well]. or buy some detangling spray and then while it wet towel dry till damp add detangling spray and comb.

Is your hair chemically treated (ie dyed, relaxed or permed, etc.)? If so, your hair will be harder to comb and there isn't much you can do about it. Try hot oil treatments, deep conditioners, and leave-in conditioners for extremely dry/damaged hair. Try sleeping on satin pillowcases, it reduces tangles. Some tangles are normal, but I know when I bleached my hair it was that much harder to comb because of the damage, and no amount of expensive products I bought helped it significantly. My hair is back to its natural state now and is a lot better.
I HAVE YOUR CURE...Bed Head After Party! Put it in after the shower and you will be able to comb or brush through your hair much easier, this also helps with frizz and makes it shinier
try patene combing cream...i have like 3 bottles since i use it soo much! it detangles your hair and leaves it pretty...and its affordable!
I have dyed %26amp; hightlighted my hair twice, the conditional of my hair is worsen. Now everytime i shampoo my hair, it will get all tangled up. There was once i tried to comb my hair without conditioning it. My comb break! (cos my hair was to rough and got tangled up) I have use pantene and herbal essence. Both did not work well. Use an intensive conditioner which will help to soften and nourish your hair.I have the same problem and sometimes using a leave in conditioner works a treat.Check out your local chemist or pharmacy,there are plenty of not so expensive products that will help and leave your hair looking and feeling super soft.
If Pantene conditioner for dry hair isnt working for ya. You really must have done a number on it. There are some moisture sprays that you can use for after washing. Stay away from the blow dryer for a while too.
always start at the ends when combing then go up a little higher and comb to the end again, and just keep working your way up, also if your hairs damaged use a deep conditioner every time you wash, only blow dry if you have to. leave in products that will protect from uv and condition at the same time as decreasing the friz, good luck

That happened to my hair after being highlighted twice. It was constantly breaking. When I began to see new growth coming in, I decided to get all the damaged part cut off. Yeah, it was short, but at least I got rid of the mess. Now, it is fine and I will never highlight it again. Good luck!
Try Redken All Soft deep conditioner. Use it daily. Also, you need to get frequent trims to trim off that damage (every 4 - 6 weeks). Use only a wide tooth comb to comb through your hair (wet or dry). You can also try to spray a hair detangler on your hair as well when you comb through it. Also consider deep conditioning treatments once or twice per week.
try dove intense care conditioner for dry/damaged hair it works good but so it can work even better put alot and leave it on for a while and when your about to get out of the shower trust me it works
My sister's hair was kind of like yours.
She:
- changed her shower and used a filter shower to filter away the chlorine
- started using this shampoo called petalsence
And it got much better after that.
So we recommended this to our friend who is particular about hair cos her hair has got natural curls and her hubby's hair si also dry and hard.
She did the same and now she says that her hair is smooth even when she dun use conditioner and her hubby absolutely loves it as well. most impt. even her SKIN also got smoother! :)

firstly you need to go and see your GP regarding this as it could be something underlying ie thyroid, iron deficancy, etc. it wont be due to change of water, but it could be due to stress ie have you just moved from india. If you feel your hair is thinning, dove shampoo is ok but might be 2 heavy for your hair type. it is ok for you two use conditioner but you really need to get to your GP who in turn will try and reasure you.
maybe a change in diet. or maybe you shouldnt wash your hair for a while. dirty hair grows fast. and get a root boosting conditioner.
Your hair is probably not used to a big change. It will take some adjustment most likely. I am sure it will be fine, oftentimes when I do something different with my hair, hair ends up falling out a lot. It just takes time to get used to!
