How do you make the back of your hair look higher?

I got my hair cut last night, and my hairdresser teased the back of my hair with a comb and then put some hair-spray in it, so the back of my hair was higher then the rest. Ive tried doing it myself, but I'm having a bit of trouble...

It would be great if I could have any tips or advice!

One of the easiest things to do is use a little mousse on your hair when it is wet and then use the blow dryer, making sure you hold the back section up off of your head with a brush as it's drying. When it is almost dry, spray a small bit of hairspray near the roots as you finish drying it.

Did she tease the back, then take another layer and smooth it over the top so that you couldn't see the teased part of the hair? You tease the hair from beneath, the side that would normally be against the head. Start at the root. Spray it. Then take the top layer, and curl over top of it. It will keep the pretty look without allowing the view of the teasing.

For stay still no movement hair.... Vavoom Freeze Spray.

It's used often in Beauty pageants, and up do's. So that the hair doesn't move. Perfect for a teasing to maintain that volume once you've got it in there.

Back comb it. Hold your hair up where you want it high, so that the roots are off your scalp. Now comb your hair starting at about 2" from your scalp, combing in short strokes TOWARDS your scalp. But comb on the side that will be underneath, not on top. Don't comb it out! Just let it fluff back to your head. Use a mirror so you can see the back of your head.

And spray it right away to hold it up. With aerosol spray. It's lighter than the spritz stuff, so it won't weigh it down. I like Aquage.

First, section a very small part of the middle of your hair. Then, spray the spray on the roots of your hair. Then, take your comb and comb down. That right, comb down. lol. then, section another part of your hair above that section and simply flip it over toward your back. There you go, higher hair.
