I have been noticing that my hair is thinning in the front and breaking and splitting. i had beautiful thick hair until the age of 23 when i started noticing my hair coming out in combs and when i run my fingers through it. it is not hereditary becuz my mom had full head of hair until she reached 50s after wards she started perming it alot and it grew thinner. I am jamaican and indian, so full hair is in my genes. I was stressed at a time and i also have gray hairs. i am a 25 yrs old female.

can any one tell me what i should use to get my hair healthy and strong again? herbal remedies, or pills or something? should i use rogain for women?

make sure you are getting enough protein in your diet. stress is deterimental to your hair, my hair fell out by the handfulls while going thru a stressful divorce but i know sometimes it is hard to advoid stress sometimes.

Women usually inherit their dad's hair, not mom's. Do not use hair-color sold in stores, use only the ones that are sold in salons and the ones your hairstylist recommends. Over-the-counter hair-color contains metallic salts and will increase your hair-loss.

To stop your hair from falling out:

1. Shampoo your hair. Do not apply conditioner.

2. Towel dry.

3. Apply table salt (the one you use in food) to the scalp of your head. Not on your hair, but all over your scalp. (Section your hair and apply table salt on the skin between hair sections all over your head.) It is better to use table salt that contains iodine (it should say on the label).

3. Cover your head with a plastic cap.

4. Wrap your head in a towel over the plastic cap.

5. Wait 20 minutes.

6. Rinse off with water.

7. Use conditioner now if you want.

Normally, the first treatment stops the hair from falling out. If they still do, repeat the treatment.

I do not know if Rogain is effective. I have seen clients that used Nioxin and stopped hair-loss and re-grew their hair. One of my female clients had extremely thinning hair. She used Nioxin thinning hair shampoo, Nioxin Scalp Therapy conditioner, and Nioxin Scalp Treatment all together for two years and received a head full of hair, long and healthy. However, this Nioxin therapy requires discipline and is expensive. The Nioxin Scallp Treatment alone is about $30/per bottle. But it gives the results if used relatively long.
