Soft straight hair or messy and tangled curly hair? (FOR A GIRL)?

I have soft straight hair but I always wanted to have curls. I went to the hairdresser once to curl my hair but the hairdresser told me not to as my curls won't last long as my hair is too soft. It would be a waste of money to maintain my curls since they don't last long. Furthermore, it causes great damage to my hair.

In the end, I decided to go to bed with my hair tied in buns. When I wake up the following morning, I would take out the rubber bands and poof! I HAVE CURLS.

However, I can't comb my hair as the curls will dissappear so I would go to school with my hair messy but curly. Some of friends commented that they prefer me with my soft straight hair to the messy "bed-hair" look while the others prefer the latter.

SO, which look is better?

well coming from a girl who has naturaly curly/messy hair, i say it's good to have the variety. because my hair can be in perfect ringlets one day and perfectly smooth and calm the next. so maybe you could get a light perm that won't hurt your hair too much, and it will give you just enough wave body and curl to make it do what you want.

i would choose the messy one, but if ur going out id try to go with the straight one because if u have soft hair, to some girls its kinda attractive cuz its soft and silky.

instead of putting your hair in buns maybe try the leave in curlers, maybe that way they'll be a little neater?

other than that just invest in a curling iron hun, as long as you take care of your hair otherwise and done use the iron like every day you should be fine.

BOTH! go with whatever mood you are in. i have straight hair and when it's long enough i do the buns over night trick too! i think both looks are great.

For Summer, the wavy beach hair look is very very in and the key is to not have it look very set. I think its cute.

If you want a more "set" look you should just use a good curling iron. It won't last very long, but it'll give you the effect you're looking for. Just make sure to not wash your hair the day before you decide to use the curling iron because the natural oils help your hair stay curly longer and use a good conditioner to get the products you use out and repair the damage the curling iron has done.

That system works fairly well for me and I have the stereotypically soft Asian hair which falls flat all the time.

Both are good. It's nice to change things up too. Straight hair looks more professional, but curly tussled hair looks sexier. Regarding the messiness, I think that most curly hair is, in its own way, messy. Try carefully separating some of the curls and positioning certain locks of hair how you want them with your fingers. If your careful and don't overdo it, it shouldn't make your curls fall out.

I think that you might regret getting a perm because of the damage it could cause, especially because of how fine your hair is to begin with.
