How can I make my hair look more "Controlled" and better looking? *( long hair 16 year old

My hair is looong now, but I havent done anything with it since I let it grow, no trimming, just washing, its straight most of the time, and curly some what. Its also parted and I have like short hair that I comb to the side where my hairline is. How do I get my hair like most of the long hair teens that have it all back, and they I think get their side burns shaved or something?

It may seem girly, but try using shampoos and conditioners that straighten hair, or replenish it. That will straighten your hair or make it more controlled looking. Also, brush it often so the oils on your scalp distribute and weigh down and condition your hair.
