I am not a pro and I've been cutting my hair for years. I used to cut my hair like you're describing but that was when haircuts that were longer in the back than in the front were popular i.e, a soft mullet. The front would be much shorter than the back. What I do now is part my wet hair in it's usual place, comb it as straight as I possibly can, and then I hold the scissors at a 45 degree angle so that the underside of my hair will be cut shorter than the outer hair. REALLY concentrate when you do this otherwise it will be flippy (which may also be stylish now). Always let the front portion be longer than the rest...BUT EVEN! Use a straightener to add a slight curl under. I think you might like it. If it doesn't work for you, sorry.

word of advice....dont cut it yourself unless ur a professional...you'll just end up screwing it up and then being miserable till it grows back out!!

It will look bad and not only cuz ure not a pro but cuz u dont cut ure hair like that, u woulnd't see perfectly so it would be all different lenths and not the good kind either and u would have to fix it by going to a solon so that means even shorter

If you comb everything forward and cut then everything near the front will be longer and everything in the back will be very short. Not necessarily the most flattering look. Don't try cutting your hair by pulling it into a pony tail either. Nothing will be even or, most likely, flattering. If you are experimenting, try something that can grow out more quickly. If you're bored, why not collaborate with a hair stylist student? If you just want a new look, please talk to a stylist about what will be flattering to your face shape and hair type.

Yeah, i agree with Sam2545. Plus, if you do that, all your hair is going to be uneven and different lengths because after you cut it and then flip your hair back to normal, the roots of the hairs are all over your head so the hair will be crooked and look all messed up. You're better off paying 8 bucks at Supercuts. :]

It'll probably look bad. The style? Maybe kinda shaggy or layered but either way I think you shouldn't do it.

I actually cut my hair like that a while back.

It looks shorter in the front and longer in the back.

Because you can't see everything, the layers are really uneven, and not exactly "perfect"

It's a really messy cut.

I wouldn't recommend it, unless you're the type of person that likes messy hair cuts.

If you're someone who likes "perfect" layers and cuts, than this is definatly not for you/

If you decide to cut it, don't cut too much length the first time. That way if you decide that you don't like it, you can always get it fixed. If you cut it too short, you're pretty much screwed.

NEVER cut it shorter than ur jaw-line.
