Something made for color treated hair like Pantenee (sp) PROV or Herbal essences thats made for your specific shade, try limiting your washing... combs wont take the color out only washing. You can buy some temporary hair dye like the new loreal ones that come in a shiny orange kind of colored package they last for about 10 days, its made be be used in between colors though, just to keep your hair as colorful or as possible. But becareful of what you use like mousses or hairspray unless they're made for color treated hair because they'll strip the color right out. and blow drying wont hurt your hair, only make it dry and brittle so try towel drying sometime or let it dry on its own.

once you have coloured your hair there is no difference as far as combs brushes and ties go...but you should use a shampoo and conditioner specifically for coloured hair...i personally use fudge or PPS i find both are fantastic....also you should use a treatment once a week....

Try not to wash your hair for a day or two so it doesnt bleed or fade. What I actually suggest if BEFORE you highlight it get a deep conditioner and condition it to avoid drying your hair or and getting split ends

getting your hair highlighted is like having your first baby. You will buy the nicest shampoos and do special things for it...then you start having to do it every few weeks and you give up.

Just make sure you arent using a clarifying shampoo (will take color out fast) and if you lightened up, try not to blowdry on too hot of heat and you will be fine!!

Well,now that your hair is color treated, you should start using a color protecting shampoo. Color Vive has a good one. If there are color specific brands you would like to try, you would choose the color of your highlights, not the base color of your hair. Try not to excessively wash your hair, it might be a good idea to skip a day between washings to prevent dryness and breakage. Making it a practice to condition after EVERY wash will keep your hair in prime condition.Lastly, it is very important to keep your ends trimmed. Some times, color treated hair is the play ground for slip ends.

Use shampoo and conditioner specifically for color treated hair. Vive Pro by Loreal is a really good shampoo. As for anything else you don't need anything special. Another thing you might consider trying is called Biosilk, it's a smoothing oil that also moisturizes your hair. You put it on before you dry your hair and you can use after you dry your hair. If you blowdry your hair a lot you should also probably cut down on that because coloring your hair is going to make it really dry and blowdrying your hair will make that even worse.

If you're going to invest in highlights, invest in a good shampoo/conditioner too. But nothing at Wal-Mart or Target. Go to a salon and talk to someone about products.

now that your hair has been lightened your highlights are way more delicate than tour virgin or un chemically treated hair. you might want to buy a karateen mask for your hair you can find this at any beauty supply although you cannot restore your cuticle layer you have now opened the mask can help to temporarily close it helping to make your hair somewhat stronger. also purchase leave in conditioners perferably in spray form because now coming your hair when its wet will stretch and break it but the cond will help to detangle it also use a wide tooth then a fine toothe comb to brush out your hair this will prevent breakage
