Fixing my damn wavy hair?

Ive asked this question numerous times before, but everyones answers always include straighetning irons.

Simply, my hair is short (under 1 inch), extremely thick, and extremely wavy. Its fairly straight when I get out of the shower, but as it drys, it curls.

Hair straightners dont work - hairs too short

Heated combs - didnt work

Hair gels/ v05 hair straightening gel/garnier fructis anti-frizz serum - none of them work. They all keep my hair straight.. until it dries.

Do I need a hair relaxer or something? I donno what that even is. I just know I need something powerfull, this weak otc stuff doesnt do crap, my hair is too stubborn =/

Does anyone have hair like that, and had a way of straightening it?

Thanks

HOW ABOUT BLOW DRYING IT INTO THE STYLE YOU'LL LIKE !!!

Fixing my damn wavy hair?

You need to find a stylist who can teach you how to work with what you have. Quit fighting it and work WITH it.......

Buy an inexpensive perm and put it in your hair. Comb through your hair with a comb and maybe it will straighten it out. I had a perm and wanted my hair straight again so I did the opposite, instead of using curlers just use a commb and leave it on for the same amount of time just like a regular perm. Don't know if it will work for naturally wavy hair but it is worth a shot.

I had really short wavy hair. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a perm (any one of them will do curly, spiral, straight it doesn't matter). Follow the directions on the solution, just don't put your hair in rollers. Once you put the solution in your hair, comb it out with a fine tooth comb. Keep combing it the whole time the solution is in. Make it as straight as possible the whole time, sometimes you need a second person to help with the back of it. Once the time frame is up, rinse it out and follow the rest of the instructions. Voila! Your hair will be straight!

My husband has really curly hair.

We decided to straighten it out so I went to the local beauty supply (but I think you can find them at local grocery stores and or drug stores like Longs, Walgreens, etc.) picked up a hair relaxer. He's caucasion, but I bought the stuff for african american (black) hair. We mixed the solution and he combed and combed it through with a comb. Just follow the instructions and viola! Your hair might not come out straight, but definitely a lot more relaxed.

Of course as it grows, it grows back curly so you have to keep it up. He did it a couple of times for fun, but he's over it. (Darn, cuz I liked it that way)

Good luck, Wish I could see how it turns out!

Fixing my damn wavy hair?

Hi! I also have very curly hair and after I tried almost every product on the market I bought an iron. But it's true that it does damage you hair so 8 months ago I decided to go to a beauty salon and get a hair relaxer. Honestly I liked the result very very much, I'm really happy with it. Now my hair is not that curly but it's not straight either. The only thing you have to take care of is choosing a good salon where a good product is offered so your hair won't be damaged. You can do this once or twice a year if you like but after 8 months I still don't need one.

Good luck!

I agree with Elizabeth. Go to a good hair stylist and ask them what to do. I won't go putting any chemicals on your hair. You might end up looking freakish. They might be able to give you a style that will really complement your wavy hair. Good luck!

You can go to the hair salons and get it permanently straightened through some type of solution. Have you tried that?

First of all try John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum Extra Strength... It works miracles!! You could use otc straightening products then hairspray your hair will it is still wet. I like TreSemme Extra Hold Hairspray.

A hair relaxer is a chemical substance that you put on your hair to loosen the curls/waves, help it lay flatter, and make it straighter. It can result in scalp irritation, hair breakage and loss, and other problems. If you are going to get your hair relaxed get it done PROFESSIONALLY!!!! It will cost more, but the results will be much better with less chance of a screw up!

you could go to a salon and see if you can get your hair permnatly straightened.

Fixing my damn wavy hair?

Probably the problem is that your hair is too small, my hair is wavy and the shorter I have it the wavier it gets.... now I have it reaaaally long (took me years!) and it gets straight by it self.

Now, if you have it wavy and very short probably curly is your solution

You can get a reverse perm. It's cheaper than a Japanese straightener and due to the fact that you have such short hair, it's way too expensive. Or a cheaper straightener. Not all of them are Japanese straighteners, there are others. The cheapest and I think the best for your hair length is the reverse perm. They just comb it instead of putting a perm on it. The only problem I can imagine is that you might get more frizz if it's not done right. I have done it before there were straighteners and they always came out fine.

Grow it longer this should stop tight curls forming in it as weight of hair will make it less curly
